PTA Treasured Tales Book Fair: March 2-6

Save the date to come explore shipwrecks & shores at our PTA Treasured Tales Book Fair! This event is an opportunity for students to build their home libraries and further their love of reading. As always, 100% of purchases benefit our school library & all classroom libraries!

Special Event Days:

Tues, 3/3: 7-745a Goodies with Grownups

Weds, 3/4: 7-745a Goodies with Grownups

Thurs, 3/5: 6-730p Book Fair Night

All hands on deck! To make our Treasured Tales Book Fair a success, we need some adventure-loving volunteers to join our crew! Volunteers will help transform the library, assist students as they hunt for the perfect book to treasure while shopping with their class, and lend a hand during our special family events like Goodies with Grownups and Book Fair Night.

This is a fantastic way to stay connected to your child’s school experience and help spark excitement as our Rattlers set sail to discover books they can’t wait to dive into.

Thank you for being part of the crew and helping make this magical, mer-mazing book fair unforgettable!

Boots & Bling was a tremendous success! Thank you to everyone who attended the event on Friday, to the families who enthusiastically bid on our items, baskets, and experiences, and a very special 'thank you' to our incredible team who worked so hard to bring this event to life. We are also deeply grateful to the Midland staff and teachers who generously gave their time to plan, organize, and offer memorable experiences for our students. We truly have an amazing community. Rattlers ROCK!

Ratter Run is BACK! We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help with our 2nd Annual Parent-Led Fun Run! Last year, our community came together to move away from APEX and create a new, Midland-focused fundraiser and we were blown away by the support, donations, and how much the students loved it.

We want to take all that energy and excitement into this year and go bigger and better, but we can’t do that without you! Take a peek at the Google Form HERE to see how to get plugged in.

Science Labs are officially underway! Ask your Rattler what experiments they explored and what exciting discoveries they made this week.

NCSP Soccer Classes are in session! Classes are held on Thursdays from 1:50-3pm and are available for sign-up through March. Open to all grade levels, TK-5th.

2026 - 2027 Class Placement Information

I want to share an important update regarding our class placement process for the 2026-2027 school year, as well as to provide insight into the thoughtful decisions that go into building balanced classes with the best interests of each student in mind.

At Midland, we are deeply committed to a culture of collaboration and intentionality, ensuring every decision we make is thoughtful and in the best interest of our Rattlers. Each spring, our teaching teams engage in deep, meaningful conversations as they thoughtfully build class rosters for the upcoming school year. These discussions are rooted in data, professional insight, and a genuine understanding of each student as a learner. Teachers consider academic strengths, social development, learning styles, and peer dynamics to ensure students are placed in environments where they can continue to grow and thrive in the next grade level.

Our staff is collectively committed to providing an exceptional educational experience for every student at Midland. With this goal in mind, we will not be accepting individual teacher requests. This decision was made with great care to ensure that classroom placements are balanced and equitable across the entire grade level. Creating balanced and equitable classes ensures that every student benefits from a diverse, high-quality learning environment where they have the best possible opportunity to succeed.

I appreciate and value your continued trust and partnership as we move forward together to set your child up for a successful school year. Please know that our shared goal remains the same: to build learning environments that support the success, well-being, and growth of each and every Midland Rattler.
