Greetings, Midland Families!

I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to everyone who helped make this year’s Rattler Run such an outstanding success! It was incredible to watch our students participate with such enthusiasm, having fun, supporting one another, and challenging themselves to see how many laps they could complete.

Thank you to all of our parents, family members, friends, and community supporters who generously contributed to this event. Your support plays a vital role in funding the many wonderful instructional programs and academic opportunities we are proud to offer here at Midland Elementary School.

An extra special thank you goes out to our dedicated parent volunteers. Your time, energy, and commitment were essential in making this event run so smoothly and successfully. We are so grateful for all that you do to support our school community.

As a reminder, next week is Poway Unified School District’s annual Spring Break. There will be no school, and classes will resume on Monday, April 13th. We hope all of our students and families enjoy a restful and enjoyable break.

Thank you and GO Rattlers!

Midland Educational Foundation

Rattler Run thank you thank you THANK you! We have to thank our sponsors, our volunteers, our teachers and administration, and especially YOU, the parents. It took a village to make it all come together, and we did it! The students had a blast on Friday and we raised money for much needed programs, classroom curriculum, and school upgrades for next year. Just a reminder that donations are open until April 10th so there's still time!

We will update everyone with all our final numbers once the fundraiser is officially over.

2026 - 2027 Class Placement Information

I want to share an important update regarding our class placement process for the 2026-2027 school year, as well as to provide insight into the thoughtful decisions that go into building balanced classes with the best interests of each student in mind.

At Midland, we are deeply committed to a culture of collaboration and intentionality, ensuring every decision we make is thoughtful and in the best interest of our Rattlers. Each spring, our teaching teams engage in deep, meaningful conversations as they thoughtfully build class rosters for the upcoming school year. These discussions are rooted in data, professional insight, and a genuine understanding of each student as a learner. Teachers consider academic strengths, social development, learning styles, and peer dynamics to ensure students are placed in environments where they can continue to grow and thrive in the next grade level.

Our staff is collectively committed to providing an exceptional educational experience for every student at Midland. With this goal in mind, we will not be accepting individual teacher requests. This decision was made with great care to ensure that classroom placements are balanced and equitable across the entire grade level. Creating balanced and equitable classes ensures that every student benefits from a diverse, high-quality learning environment where they have the best possible opportunity to succeed.

I appreciate and value your continued trust and partnership as we move forward together to set your child up for a successful school year. Please know that our shared goal remains the same: to build learning environments that support the success, well-being, and growth of each and every Midland Rattler.
