Greetings, Midland Families!

Happy Thanksgiving, Midland Families!

As we head into the holiday break, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to our fantastic teachers, staff, and parent community. Each of you contributes so much to making Midland the wonderful and welcoming place it is every day. Your hard work, care, and dedication create an environment where our students can thrive, learn, and feel supported. I am truly grateful for all that you do.

I hope everyone enjoys a safe, restful, and wonderful holiday surrounded by family and friends.

100th Year Celebration - rescheduled to Friday 12/12/25!

Thank you again for your understanding and flexibility with the rescheduling of the 100th Anniversary Celebration originally scheduled for this Friday morning, November 21. Due to the rain, we made the difficult decision to reschedule the event.

Please know this decision was not made lightly. Our team explored every possible way to safely and meaningfully hold the celebration this week. However, with the large number of alumni, former staff, community partners, and guests expected, we do not have enough indoor space to comfortably host everyone while still highlighting our students, honoring Midland’s history, and creating the fun, welcoming experience this event deserves.

The good news is that we have already secured a new date. We will now celebrate together on December 12, 2025, at 7:50 AM. While we share in the disappointment of not being able to gather this week, we hope you will save the date and plan to join us in December for a truly special celebration.

Thank you for your understanding, flexibility, and continued support of our school community.

Attendance Update: Thank You for Your Partnership!

I am excited to share some positive progress in our schoolwide attendance this year! Thanks to your continued partnership and commitment, we have seen an increase in our monthly attendance rates over the first four months of school. This is a wonderful step in the right direction, and we truly appreciate the effort our families are making to help students be present and ready to learn each day.

We are also proud to report that many students have moved off the Chronically Absent list and are joining us at Midland more consistently. This improvement is worth celebrating, and it reflects the dedication of both our families and our staff working together toward a common goal.

While we still have work ahead of us, we are encouraged by the progress we’ve made so far. Thank you for continuing to partner with us to ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed through regular, consistent attendance. Together, we can keep moving in the right direction!

Poway Unified Starstruck Event!

We are excited to share that three of our outstanding team members were recognized earlier this week at the Poway Unified Starstruck celebration!

Please join us in congratulating Karen Lieberman, Alyssa Roscoe, and Shelly Meade for their remarkable accomplishments as Midland’s Classified Employee of the Year, PUSD District Teacher of the Year, and Midland’s Volunteer of the Year.

Their dedication, hard work, and commitment to our students and school community truly shine. It was a wonderful evening celebrating their well-deserved awards!

Congratulations again to our StarStruck honorees!
