Greetings, Midland Families!

What an incredible week it has been here at Midland! Our campus was filled with energy and celebration as we recognized the many talents and contributions of our students and families.

A highlight of the week was our annual Variety Show, where our students shined. Their creativity, confidence, and enthusiasm were inspiring to see, and we are so proud of each performer who took the stage.

We also had the honor of celebrating our military families during Friday’s Rattlers ROCK assembly. To all of our military connected families, thank you for your service and sacrifice.

I would also like to extend a thank you to our parent community. Your continued support, involvement, and partnership are an absolute strength of our campus and make a meaningful difference in the experiences we provide for our students.

I hope everyone has a wonderful and restful weekend! GO Rattlers!

Midland Educational Foundation

Thank you for the incredible support of our Rattler Run!

A huge thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, teachers, and administration—and especially our amazing parents—for making this event such a success.

The students had a fantastic time, and together we raised an incredible $61,332.50 to support important programs, classroom curriculum, and school upgrades for next year.

We are so grateful for this community and all the support!

Lost and Found Reminder

Our Lost and Found cart is filling up! We have quite a few items, sweatshirts, jackets, water bottles, and more that we’d love to return to their owners.

Please take a moment to check the Lost and Found cart located out front in the morning or afternoon. You might just find something that belongs to your student!

Thank you for helping us reunite these items with their homes. Any unclaimed items will be donated after 5/1/2026

Need a NEW Backpack?!

We are thrilled to share that our local Costco has generously donated over 100 beautiful, brand-new backpacks to Midland Elementary!

We are incredibly grateful to our fantastic Midland Elementary Foundation, and especially to Jill Hudgins, for her outstanding work in building this meaningful partnership with Costco. Thanks to their efforts, many of our students will head to school feeling confident and prepared.

There are four fun styles to choose from:

  • Green

  • Astronauts

  • Dark Grey

  • Hearts

If your child is in need of a new backpack, please complete the Google Form linked below so we can connect you with this wonderful resource.

We are so thankful for the generosity and community spirit that continues to support our Midland students!

2026 - 2027 Class Placement Information

I want to share an important update regarding our class placement process for the 2026-2027 school year, as well as to provide insight into the thoughtful decisions that go into building balanced classes with the best interests of each student in mind.

At Midland, we are deeply committed to a culture of collaboration and intentionality, ensuring every decision we make is thoughtful and in the best interest of our Rattlers. Each spring, our teaching teams engage in deep, meaningful conversations as they thoughtfully build class rosters for the upcoming school year. These discussions are rooted in data, professional insight, and a genuine understanding of each student as a learner. Teachers consider academic strengths, social development, learning styles, and peer dynamics to ensure students are placed in environments where they can continue to grow and thrive in the next grade level.

Our staff is collectively committed to providing an exceptional educational experience for every student at Midland. With this goal in mind, we will not be accepting individual teacher requests. This decision was made with great care to ensure that classroom placements are balanced and equitable across the entire grade level. Creating balanced and equitable classes ensures that every student benefits from a diverse, high-quality learning environment where they have the best possible opportunity to succeed.

I appreciate and value your continued trust and partnership as we move forward together to set your child up for a successful school year. Please know that our shared goal remains the same: to build learning environments that support the success, well-being, and growth of each and every Midland Rattler.
