Welcome back to a new school year!
Dear Midland Elementary School Families,
On behalf of our staff at Midland, I am happy to welcome you and your children to the 2024-2025 school year! I am very excited to start this new year, as we know it is going to be an amazing experience.
We have a lot of exciting new things happening this year! We have new members on staff, including a new Assistant Principal, Ms. Miranda. We look forward to seeing all our students at our teacher meet and greet on August 20th, from 1:30-2:30pm, here in our quad. New families to Midland are invited to a brief overview and orientation of our school in the MPR at 1:00pm on the same day.
Our teachers have been learning and preparing to make sure your child’s learning experiences will prepare them for a more innovative future. Based on community feedback and input, we are excited to provide the opportunity to offer VAPA experiences to our school year.
Our School Site Council and Equity Team will also be continuing their work supporting Midland and PUSD’s Equity and Inclusion Plan. We are looking forward to the positive work of these teams and the collaboration with our district. We greatly appreciate your support around this important work.
We look forward to seeing our school transform with the arrival of our students on August 21st–don’t forget school starts promptly at 7:45! On the first day of school only, parents will be permitted to enter the playground with their child where they will meet the teachers. Parents can walk with the escorted class to the classroom on this day, but they will not be permitted to enter the classroom. Midland will remain a closed campus for the remainder of the year. This is an exciting time as we work hard to provide our students positive and happy days at school.
Please be on the lookout for communication from your teacher soon– It is going to be a great year and we are very excited to welcome our RATTLERS back to school!
With Rattler Pride,
Principal Sidia Martinez
